Seán Keane returns to Tuar Ard
Renowned as one of Ireland’s most distinctive and celebrated voices, Seán Keane returns to Tuar Ard Theatre in Moate this September for an evening of unforgettable music.
He will play a much-anticipated concert in Moate's Tuar Ard Theatre on Friday, September 26 next.
Known for his unique blend of traditional Irish folk, blues, and country, Seán’s captivating voice and instrumental talents on flute, whistles, and pipes create performances that are both powerful and deeply moving.
With a career that has enchanted audiences worldwide, his concerts are filled with warmth, intimacy, and gentle humour.
Born into a family steeped in music, and brother to renowned traditional singer, Dolores Keane, it is no wonder that Seán Keane followed his parents and wider family into the music industry.
When he joined his first group, Shegui, he had already served a long apprenticeship; after travelling throughout Europe with the band, he left to join 'Reel Union'. Later, he was part of Arcady, with such well-known names as Johnny 'Ringo' McDonagh, Sharon Shannon and Frances Black.
After a brief stint in the theatre, Seán Keane embarked on his solo career in 1993. “All Heart No Roses” received rave reviews and was chosen as 'Debut Folk Album of the Year' by Q Magazine. In the years following, success continued with Meteor Award nominations, as well as numerous Irish accolades. All of his solo albums are platinum sellers and remain in constant demand.
Tickets are available at Tuar Ard box office or on tuarard.ie. Cost: €31.
