Double gold for Ellen as Dublin Horse Show beckons
Ellen McLoughlin has galloped into the sporting spotlight by securing not just one but two coveted golden tickets to the prestigious Dublin Horse Show at the RDS next month.
At the recent Ard Chuain Equestrian Centre event, the 12-year-old showcased her exceptional equitation skills aboard Mount Temple Star, clinching victory in their class in what was a deserved reward for Ellen's hours of practice.
This win alone would be a significant achievement for any young rider. But the Ardnagrath girl wasn't content to stop there. Demonstrating her versatility and courage, Ellen then partnered with Ardville Mattie K in the highly competitive 133cm Working Hunter Class in Barnadown Equestrian Centre, Co. Wexford.
What makes this feat even more extraordinary is that Ardville Mattie K is a mere five years old, a testament to Ellen's ability to not only ride, but to truly produce a young horse. Their combined effort secured their place in the Dublin Horse Show, a truly remarkable accomplishment for such a young partnership.
The Dublin Horse Show is one of the highlights of Irish equestrian calendar, a stage where dreams are realised and legends are made. For a 12-year-old to qualify in two distinct disciplines speaks volumes about Ellen's potential.
A daughter of Colette Gaffey and Joe McLoughlin, Ellen attends Ardnagrath NS and she has one brother, Joseph, and one sister, May.
Ellen's remarkable success is a testament to her talent and unwavering commitment. All eyes will undoubtedly be on Ellen and her magnificent ponies as they prepare for their well-deserved moment in the RDS, with the Dublin Horse Show taking place from August 6-10.
Ellen and her family are eagerly looking forward to the Dublin Horse Show as this rising star continues to shine.
