Athlone Town women's Champions League fixture officially a sell-out

Athlone Town women's team will play their first UEFA Champions League fixture against Welsh club Cardiff City in front of a sold out attendance in Lissywollen at 7.30pm tonight (Wednesday).

In a social media post published by the club, it was confirmed that all tickets for this much anticipated fixture are now sold out.

'We can’t wait to see everyone tonight as we look to make history in a packed stadium.

'Please note that no tickets will be available at the gates. Thank you for your understanding," the social media post stated.

Managed by former Athlone native and former player Colin Fortune, a win in this one leg fixture tonight will see the club advance to the next stage of the competition and a meeting with Croatian side ZNK Agram this Saturday, August 2, at 4pm, in Athlone Town Stadium.
