Upcoming event to mark 200 years of Glasson's Low Road

A celebration to mark the 200th anniversary of the Low Road, between Ballykeeran and Glasson, will be held on Sunday, August 24.

The event is being held as part of Heritage Week, and it will include a guided walk along the Low Road, with a talk from local historian Dr Aengus Finnegan. The talk will highlight the history and significance of the road.

The organisers of the event have been busy gathering photographs of the locality, which will feature in a display at Glasson Heritage Centre on the day.

There will also be light refreshments served in the Heritage Centre, as well as family entertainment and activities for children on the day.

A booklet detailing the history of the Low Road is being prepared and will be available for people to take away.

The event runs from 12.15pm until 3pm on Sunday, August 24.
