Petanque and pickleball among events for HER Outdoors Week
If you are a female who likes outdoor exercise, HER Outdoors Week is certain to appeal with a number of activities planned for local venues from August 11-17.
An initiative from the Westmeath Sports Partnership (WSP), 'Her Outdoors Week 2025' will see a range of activities taking place at Athlone Regional Sports Centre and Dún Na Sí Moate.
Ahead of HER Outdoors Week, Westmeath Sports Partnership is encouraging more females to get out and enjoy the benefits of being in the outdoors, while bringing visibility to the opportunities for females to get involved in outdoor physical activity.
"Westmeath Sports Partnership wants to provide more opportunities for all females to escape to the outdoors and try something new. We are very lucky to live in a county with so many accessible and inclusive amenities and facilities and Her Outdoors Week makes use of many of them across 17 varied and exciting events, almost all of which are 100% FREE to attend.
"This year's schedule is packed with something for everyone; whether you're looking for a relaxing stroll or an invigorating challenge, don't miss out on these fantastic opportunities,"
"So get ready to embrace the fresh air with an array of activities designed to get you active while enjoying the beautiful Westmeath outdoors," a spokesperson for WSP said.
