Two Galway Festival winners for Athlone jockey

Athlone jockey Rory Cleary had two winners in the Galway Festival last week as he partnered Summer Snow and Thatwilldoso to victory.

Cleary was in the saddle as Wicklow trainer Peter Lawlor notched up his first Galway Festival success with Summer Snow taking the seven-furlong handicap last week.

The 8/1 shot made it three wins for the season when coming through to lead inside the final furlong to beat the Ado McGuinness-trained 7/1 shot Apache Outlaw by a length.

Last Saturday’s card was wrapped up with another winner for Cleary who partnered the 10/1 chance Thatwilldoso to take the 12-furlong handicap for trainer Kevin Coleman.

The four-year-old led well inside the final furlong and came home a half-length winner from 25/1 shot Burren Song, trained by Westmeath's Ciaran Murphy
