Local representation on Ireland team for final World Cup warm up game

Two former Buccaneers RFC players have been named in the Ireland senior women's rugby team to play Canada in Affidea Park Belfast on Saturday (kick-off, 12pm), their final warm-up contest ahead of this month's World Cup in England.

Anna McGann and Ivana Kiripati will be looking to impress Head Coach Scott Bemand in advance of the World Cup squad being confirmed next week.

Moydrum native McGann will start in her familiar wing berth, while Kiripati will play in the openside flanker role.

Ballinasloe winger Beibhinn Parsons is also named on the team who will aim to complete their series of warm up games with a confidence boosting win prior to the start of their World Cup campaign later this month.

Ireland start their World Cup campaign with a Pool C fixture against Japan on August 24. They then play Spain on August 31 before completing their round robin phase of games against New Zealand on September 7.
