Vibrant mural brings added flair to new Monksland park

A new mural has brought an added sense of fun and personality to the new Monksland park, located in Monksland Business Park.

Officially opened in June of this year, the park features the newly painted skate park, as well as a basketball court, table tennis, and a play area including a climbing frame, slide, and a merry-go-round.

The latest addition to the park was created by artist Omin, an established and internationally recognised graphic artist from Dundalk.

Roscommon County Council commissioned the piece under the Walls Project, funded under Town & Village 2021 & Roscommon County Council’s Public Art Programme.

In the design process, the artist engaged locally with young people from both Monksland Youth Café, facilitated by Roscommon LEADER Partnership (10-17yrs) and illustration students from TUS Athlone Campus.
