Athlone band The Halez to release new single later this month
Athlone band The Halez are gearing up to release their new single 'Share The World' later this month.
The four piece band is made of up Roscommon native Kieran Murphy as the lead singer, as well as Athlonians Cormac Sheerin on bass, Jermone Sheerin on guitar, and drummer Eamonn O'Toole.
Their upcoming single is described as an uplifting soft-rock track "which will arrive just in time to ease the post-Oasis gig blues and stir some excitement for a potential U2 gig at Slane next year".
Having met in Athlone Institute of Technology, the band consists of a group of friends following a long-term dream to build a career in music.
"When I first came up with the idea of putting a band together, we met over a pint in Sean's Bar in Athlone," said lead singer Kieran.
"We had been playing covers for a number of years, but it was during the Covid-19 lockdown that we started to produce original music."
The group have garnered attention from music producers in the US, and are looking to build an organic following ahead of the release of their debut album.
