Exciting new season planned at Midlands Photography Club
Midlands Photography Club is delighted to announce the launch of its new season and has extended a warm welcome to new members to join their vibrant community of photographers.
Registration for the new season will take place on Wednesday, September 10 at 7.30pm in St. Ciaran's House, St. Mary's Square, where members meet every second week. The club has a current membership of 45 photography enthusiasts, and is hoping to attract new members for the exciting year ahead.
With a packed calendar of events and activities catering for all levels of experience, the Midlands Photography Club will kick off their new season with a Beginners Photography Course, giving new members the chance to gain hands-on experience with their cameras. The course will include local landscape photo walks and nature and wildlife outings to Lough Boora, ensuring participants learn in a fun, practical environment.
To help new members settle in, a mentorship programme is being launched which will pair newcomers with experienced members who share similar photographic interests. This one-to-one guidance will help foster confidence and skills while building connections within the club.
Members can also look forward to landscape outings to Achill Island in October and Donegal in March, and they have also lined up an inspiring number of guest speakers and workshops this season, including:
Sean Ganly, renowned local macro and wildlife photographer, delivering an in-club talk. Colm Kerr, leading architectural and commercial photographer, sharing his expertise in another in-club session. EJ Lazenby, internationally recognised fine art photographer, who will host a Zoom workshop on creative processing.
Among the many unique features that membership of Midlands Photography Club offers is their in-house printing facility which allow members to experience the complete photographic journey — from capturing the image, through processing, right up to producing high-quality prints ready for display.
Alongside these opportunities, members can also enjoy regular in-house competitions, photo walks, and the chance to represent the club in external competitions such as the IPF National Shield in November.
Annual membership is just €90, which includes access to all activities as well as the Beginners Course for those who wish to take part.
