Public event to help shape the future of Ferbane

Ferbane residents are being invited to shape the future of the town at a public participation event next week.

The Ferbane Town Team, in partnership with Offaly County Council, will host the event in Gallen Community School on Tuesday, September 9, from 4.30pm to 8pm.

A draft Town Centre First Plan has been created as part of the national Town Centre First Initiative, aiming to revitalise Ferbane by focusing on the needs and requirements of the local community.

This plan, developed by consultants Brady, Shipman, Martin, is a multi-layered approach that includes strategic objectives, proposals, and actions.

It's built on a foundation of collaboration and communication with local stakeholders, through analysis of the town, and defining a clear path for future development.

The draft plan identifies potential projects and actions under four key themes, highlighting Ferbane as a vibrant, attractive and welcoming town centre; a town offering social inclusion and wellbeing in a safe and accessible environment; enhanced sustainability and biodiversity and connected natural and built assets; economy and growth.

The drop-in public participation event will offer residents a key opportunity to see the draft plan and provide input into the future of your community.

Residents unable to attend the event can still have their say by completing the Town Centre First survey.

The survey will be open from September 9-30 2025 and completed at the following link. https://forms.office.com/e/4Mt5hkasSU
