Milestone moment awaits for Midland Warriors
Sunday morning will mark a milestone moment for Midland Warriors RFC when the clubs 'minis' become the first players to grace the newly developed main pitch on the outskirts of Moate.
Boys and girls from the U8, U10 and U12 teams will participate in a 10am 'minis sessions' at 'Bawnoges', a social media post from Midland Warriors acknowledging that the club was "extremely excited for this big day".
News of the club’s plan to develop new playing facilities was first shared publicly in May 2024, as Midland Warriors sought to accommodate a significant rise in playing numbers.
The club was granted planning permission for the development in April of this year and has made significant facilities progress to date, director of rugby, Graham Ross, previously commending the support received from the local community.
"We have had massive support from the local area. Everything so far has come from the community, with no grants to date. We're working on grants. We're trying to make it as community-based as possible, we want it to be a community facility. It takes a village," he said.
