Athlone Town star earns her second player of the month award

Athlone Town's Kelly Brady has - for the second time this year - been named as the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division Player of the Month.

The 23-year-old striker, who scored all three of her side's goals in Sunday's FAI Cup final win against Bohemians, was rewarded for her fine run of form with the player of the month accolade for October, having previously received the honour in April.

She has also been nominated for the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division Player of the Year award, the winner of which will be announced at a ceremony on November 14.

Brady is currently training with the Ireland squad ahead of their two-legged Nations League playoff against Belgium and was presented with her latest player of the month award alongside the squad after a training session earlier today (Wednesday).

She is just the 11th player to claim the player of the month award on two occasions. September's player of the month was Brady's Athlone teammate, midfielder Hannah Waesch.

Brady finished the season as the Golden Boot winner with 19 league goals and also topped the scoring charts in the Sports Direct Women’s FAI Cup with five goals.
