Athlone artist's 2026 fundraising calendar goes on sale

For close to a decade, Athlone artist Anna Boles has marked the approaching new year with the publication of a colourful calendar displaying her attractive paintings of familiar local settings.

This year is no different, and Anna's 2026 calendar has now returned from the printers ready for sale.

As in previous years, the cost of the calendar will be €15, with 25% of this going to a local charity.

The South Westmeath Hospice has been Anna's chosen charity in recent years and will again be the beneficiary this year. The artist pointed out that, in addition, 100% of the sponsorship raised by the calendar will go directly to the hospice.

"This is my ninth year to publish my art calendars, which have raised €15,000 for local Athlone charities to date," Anna said.

"A huge thanks to the local business who are selling the calendars in their stores for me again this year. They are: Cunningham's Pharmacy; Topline Heavins & Euronics; Sean's Bar; Ganly's Athlone, Longford, Mountbellew; Fernhill Garden Centre, Athlone; Burgess, Athlone; Athlone Framing; Athlone Towncentre post office; Poppy Fields; Athlone Photo Shop; Love My Hair and The Dog and Duck in Ballykeeran."

She also thanked her "twelve amazing sponsors" this year, namely: Fusion Training Centre; Cunningham's Pharmacy; Topline Heavins & Euronics; Sean's Bar; The Dog and Duck; Dean Crowe Theatre; Castle Inn; Ganly's Athlone, Longford, Mountbellew; Fernhill Garden Centre, Athlone; Love My Hair; Burgess, Athlone; and the Shamrock Lodge Hotel.

"Calendars can be posted to you if you're not local to Athlone. Just pop me a message and I'll get posting. Thank you to everyone for your amazing support over the years. It's very much appreciated as always," she said.
