Cleary likes what he sees in the Curragh
Athlone jockey Rory Cleary rode a winner for Kildare-based Cormac Farrell as the three-year-old Likewhatyousee took the 12-furlong Bill Hanlon Memorial Fillies Maide at the Curragh on Tuesday last, October 21.
The 7/1 chance headed Noel Meade’s 7/4 favourite Eroico close to the finish to score by three-parts of a length in Farrell’s own colours.
Meanwhile, another Westmeath jockey enjoyed success last week with Mullingar's Nicola Burns claiming her 19th winner of the season.
Trained by Michael O'Callaghan and with Burns on board, Darkdeserthighway took the seven-furlong apprentice handicap at Dundalk on Friday evening.
The seven-year-old, priced at 15/2, led a furlong out and kept on to beat Danny Murphy’s 5/1 shot Venetian by half a length.
