Athlone Town Stadium to host First Division play-off final

Athlone Town Stadium has been chosen as the venue for the SSE Airtricity Men's First Division play-off final this weekend.

The fixture, between Bray Wanderers and Treaty United, will kick-off at 3pm this Sunday, November 2, and will be streamed live on LOITV.

At the two-legged play-off semi-final stage Bray defeated UCD 3-2 last night in the Carlisle Grounds to win 4-2 overall, with Treaty United overcoming Cobh Ramblers in extra-time to win 2-1 in the tie as Eoin Martin's extra-time goal gave the Limerick side a 1-1 draw on the night.

The winner of Sunday's game in Athlone will then play the team which finishes second from bottom in the Premier Division in the promotion/relegation play-off.

With one more round of fixtures to be played in the Premier Division this Saturday, the top-tier team that will be involved in the promotion/relegation play-off will be one of Waterford United, Sligo Rovers, or Galway United.
