Ballinasloe-based photographer receives prestigious 'event expert' award
Ballinasloe-based photographer Sarah Kilduff received the prestigious 'event expert' award at the Irish Micro Business Awards committee awards on Saturday, October 18.
Sarah is the owners of SMK Studios on Ballinsloe's Main Street, and was among nearly 4000 entries for the award.
"I was both shocked and completely overjoyed to accept the award on behalf of SMK Studios," Sarah said. Earlier this year, she was also a branch finalist nominated as “Solo Business Woman of the Year” from Network Ireland in Galway.
SMK Studios specialises in milestone portraiture especially newborn, children and family photography. They also provide documentary style wedding and engagement photography and much more.
“It has been an amazing six plus years in business, and this type of recognition cements the fact that hard work really does pay off," she said.
"I would like to thank all of my dedicated clients who bring new generations of their families into us every year to document their milestones, it really makes us feel like a little family. Each wedding and event that we are part of shaping increases our passion for the job even more, and here is to many years ahead!”
The Irish Micro Business Awards, now in its eleventh year, is the leading celebration of Ireland's Micro businesses. The awards aim to celebrate the nation's best sole traders, micro businesses and Micro companies, as well as the services providers and advisers that support them.
Despite the huge number of Micro Businesses operating within Ireland, this vital sector does not get the recognition it deserves. The mission of the Irish Micro Business Awards committee is to honour and recognise Ireland's micro entities as well as those champions and advocates that support them.
