Gold Medal for GAA Future Leaders Programme at Moate Community School

Moate Community School is proud to announce that it has been awarded a Gold Medal in recognition of its outstanding participation in the GAA Future Leaders Programme for the academic year 2024/2025.

The award was presented on September 17 at GAA Headquarters, Croke Park, acknowledging the school’s continued commitment to promoting leadership, teamwork, and community engagement through Gaelic games.

The GAA Future Leaders Programme celebrates schools and students who demonstrate initiative and leadership in the organisation and promotion of Gaelic games and related activities.

Students at Moate Community School have shown remarkable dedication in this regard—coaching and mentoring younger footballers, organising games and blitz events, developing links with local primary schools and community groups, and coordinating wellbeing walks and school-wide sporting events. In the previous academic year,

Moate Community School had the honour of welcoming GAA President Jarlath Burns, who visited the school during one of its blitz days to witness first hand the enthusiasm and leadership demonstrated by students.

This achievement is a testament to the hard work, initiative, and community spirit of all those involved. Moate Community School looks forward to building on this success as Future Leaders of 2025 continue to develop and implement exciting new projects in the months ahead.
