Second batch of finalists for Athlone Business Awards
The shortlist for this year’s Athlone Business Awards has been announced.
This year’s gala event will be held on Saturday, November 8, at Hodson Bay Hotel.
The awards, hosted by Athlone Chamber of Commerce, recognise outstanding achievements across a wide range of sectors, from small family-run enterprises to large-scale organisations driving growth and creating employment in the region.

ATHLONE BOOK STORE
The Athlone Bookshop opened in July 2021 as an independent. Located on Lloyd’s Lane off Church Street, it is part of “The Village @ Burgess” within the Burgess Department Store.
The store is designed as a traditional general browsing bookshop, stocking a range of children’s books for all ages, a varied fiction section, and a non-fiction selection that caters to diverse interests. Additionally, the store offers a select range of greeting cards. The shop expanded in March 2023 to 1,600 square feet and now stocks just over 5,000 titles.
