Moate choir to host charity Christmas concert in Coosan
Moate's An Cór Lár Tíre is preparing to bring the community together for a Christmas concert this month.
Taking place in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Coosan, Athlone, at 6pm on Sunday, December 21, the event will offer an evening filled with music, joy, and the spirit of giving.
The highly-anticipated concert will feature special guest Deirdre Higgins, as well as a stunning lineup of Christmas classics and festive songs, expertly performed by An Cór Lár Tíre. It promises to be a magical night of festive cheer and one that's taking place in support of three vital local causes.
This year’s event will raise funds for Midlands Simon Community, which works to combat homelessness in the Midlands; The Sunflower Children’s Hospice, which provides palliative care to children with life-limiting conditions; and St. Hilda’s Services, the local charity that supports people with disabilities, empowering them to live fulfilling lives.
By attending the concert, you'll be supporting these worthy causes and helping to make a real difference in the local community. This is the perfect opportunity to come together with friends and family, enjoy beautiful music, and celebrate the magic of the holiday season.
An Cór Lar Tíre is an adult community choir made up of approximately 100 men and women, and was formed in September 2023 by director Giselle Foley. Since then, the choir has gone from strength to strength.
Tickets are available for purchase at several local locations, including Maries in Moate, News4U, Carmelite Pastoral Shop, St Mary’s Parish Office in Athlone, and Kieran’s in Mount Temple.
