Westmeath winner collects €6.2 million lotto jackpot
The purchaser of the Westmeath ticket which last week won the €6,241,505 lotto jackpot has claimed their prize and said: "It still feels like a dream".
The lucky ticket holder, who purchased the ticket at Eason’s in Pearse Street, Mullingar, saw their numbers come up in last Wednesday night's lotto draw (December 3).
While sitting in the Winners Room in Lottery HQ, the winner said: "Would you believe that I can actually count on one hand the number of times that I have played Lotto this year?
"I wouldn’t be a regular player, and last Wednesday was my third time to play the game this year. I just picked up a ticket when I was out and about and sure look, here I am now!"
Having handed over the ticket to the National Lottery claims team, the new millionaire was thinking about what to do next: "A Mediterranean cruise has always been the dream, so that’s top of my list. Sun, sea and sand definitely sounds good right about now!"
The Westmeath winner is the 26th National Lottery millionaire of 2025, and took home the 5th highest prize won so far this year.
