Carol services planned in Athlone and Moate this weekend

The Church of Ireland's Athlone Union of Parishes has announced details of its Christmas services, which will begin with carol services in Athlone and Moate this coming weekend.

This Friday, December 19, a carol service will be held in St Mary's Church, Moate (Eircode: N37 XK72) at 8pm.

Rev Canon William Steacy of the Athlone Union of Parishes said tea will be served afterwards in the hall at the Old School House, Station Road, Moate (Eircode: N37 R5P1) and that all are welcome.

This Sunday, meanwhile, a carol service will take place in St Mary's Church of Ireland, Athlone, at 11am. Again, there will be tea and coffee served afterwards, and all are welcome.

On Christmas Eve, the Athlone Union of Parishes will hold Holy Communion services at 6.30pm in Forgney (N39 EH36) and 8pm in Benown (Google 'Benown (Church of Ireland)').

On Christmas Day there will be services in St Mary's Church of Ireland, Athlone, at 10am and in St Mary's Church of Ireland, Moate, at 11.30am.

There will also be a service in St Mary's Church of Ireland, Athlone, at 11am on Sunday, December 28.
