Moate residents urged to shop local by Town Team

Moate residents have been urged to shop local this Christmas by Moate Town Team.

A statement from the group noted that "every euro spent locally is a quiet vote for the future of the community" as you support neighbours and the local economy.

"In Moate and surrounding towns and villages, the strength of the local economy depends on the choices we make every day.

"When we shop local, we’re not just buying a product, we’re supporting neighbours, sustaining livelihoods, and keeping our communities vibrant and resilient."

The Town Team said that unlike when money is spent in "large chains or online giants", money spent in local shops recirculates in the local area for much longer.

"It recirculates through wages, sponsorships, local suppliers, school fundraisers, sports clubs, and the countless small things that make a town feel alive."
