Local U13 chess team honoured by Roscommon County Council

The Drum / Clonown/Monksland Community Games U13 Chess Team have been honoured at the Roscommon County Council’s Civic Reception.

The event took place on Monday, December 15 in Roscommon Arts Centre.

Their outstanding achievement in winning a National Community Games title in Chess was recognised on the night.

The team is led by coaches Paula Sheehy and Purnima Bhushan, and is made up of six local kids from Cloonakilla NS, Summerhill NS, and Cornafulla NS: Addhrit Bhushan, Adhiraj Bhushan, Aaron Sheehy, Cuan Ryan, Cormac Gallagher, and Eleanor Neary.
