O'Kane rejoins Athlone Town ahead of 2026 season

Athlone Town women's manager John Sullivan has completed his first new signing for the club ahead of the 2026 season.

Former player Melissa O'Kane has re-signed for the club from Shamrock Rovers having previously played for Athlone Town in 2021 and 2022.

The 21 year old midfielder featured prominently for Shamrock Rovers during the Dublin club's 2025 Premier Division campaign, making 19 appearances in both league and cup competitions.

Originally from Longford, Melissa joined Athlone Town from her local club Ardagh Town before making the move to Dublin in 2023.
