“I’ll be back”: Midlands Gardaí terminate re-offending VW drivers journey
Midlands Gardaí were forced to terminate the journey of VW driver twice in one week, they shared in a viral post to the An Garda Síochána Laois/Offaly Facebook page.
The re-offending driver, who was arrested on both December 31 and again on January 4, was found to be driving under the influence of both Cocaine and Cannabis on both occasions.
During the most recent incident, the car was caught travelling at 127 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
"These cases highlighted are the drivers that we are all sharing the roads with. Not so fun fact: Laois RPU have still to go a single day in 2026 without arresting a driver under the influence of cocaine," Gardaí said.
"The movie quote might be iconic, but the consequences are very very real. Fortunately the only thing terminated was the journey."
