TUS Midlands primed to start Sigerson Cup campaign

TUS Midlands will host MTU Kerry in a Sigerson Cup first round encounter on the Athlone campus at 7pm tonight (Tuesday).

A win tonight will place TUS Midlands into the quarter-final of the third level gaelie football competition, the stage at which their Sigerson Cup journey faltered in 2025.

TUS Midlands manager John Twaddle will be looking towards experienced intercounty players, Matthew Whittaker and Brian Cooney (Westmeath) and David Dempsey (Offaly) in the hope that his charges can advance over their Munster opponents.

TUS Midlands exited the competition last year to eventual Sigerson Cup winners DCU Dóchas Éireann.
