Athlone Musical Society to host annual table quiz

In support of their 2026 production, 'The Witches of Eastwick', Athlone Musical Society will host its annual table quiz in The Bounty on Wednesday, February 4, at 8pm.

Tables of four cost €40, and the society is urging everyone to come along to what promises to be a music and fun-filled evening of entertainment.

Rehearsals recently resumed for the cast of this year's show which will open to the public on Tuesday, March 3.

'The Witches of Eastwick' is a musical adaptation of John Updike’s 1984 novel of the same name.

Set in the fictional New England town of Eastwick, the story follows three women - Alexandra (Alex), Sukie, and Jane, who are stuck in a monotonous, repressive small-town life. Each is frustrated and yearning for something more. More excitement, more passion and more meaning.

The musical blends comedy, satire, and pathos, ultimately telling a story about reclaiming agency, the cost of unchecked desire, and the power of female solidarity.

'The Witches of Eastwick' will run for five performances in the Dean Crowe Theatre until Saturday, March 7, with curtain up at 8pm.

Tickets for The Witches of Eastwick, priced from €15-€25 are currently on sale at https://www.deancrowetheatre.com/dean_event/the-witches-of-eastwick/
