South Roscommon clubs primed for All-Ireland Scór na nÓg Final

Clubs from South Roscommon will be proudly represented at the All Ireland Scór na nÓg Final 2026 in the INEC Killarney on Saturday (January 24).

Representatives from Padraig Pearses and St Dominic's GAA Clubs are in the final days of preparation for the national competition having been successful in their respective disciplines at the Connacht final stage.

Scór na nÓg is the youth division of the GAA's cultural competition, which promotes traditional Irish culture like music, dance, singing, and storytelling.

Now, the final four remaining clubs in each of the eight Scór disciplines will battle it out to bring the coveted Celtic Cross medals and All-Ireland titles back to their communities.

The Pádraig Pearses club have always embraced and promoted Scór over the decades and the 2025/2026 season saw their most recent efforts, come to rich fruition.

Miriam Darcy has enjoyed a tremendous final year in Scór na nÓg, claiming a first county and then provincial crown in Recitation Storytelling. Her delivery of 'My Darling Sarah', a self-penned piece, has delighted audiences and adjudicators alike to date.

Miriam will have a busy day however, as she will take to the stage again in the Novelty Act discipline joined by her clubmates, Ailbhe Glynn Desmond, Katie Grenham, Kate Killeen Lyons, Kate Killeen, Aoibhín Seale, Erin Arru and Oisín Murphy.

They will hope their performance of ‘Mythological Love’, will continue to delight and entertain on the national stage. Padraig Pearses last appeared at All Ireland Scór na nÓg level in 2014 when competing in the Novelty Act event in Castlebar.

St Dominic's GAA club will be represented at the All-Ireland Scór na nÓg Final on Saturday by Gemma Casey

Meanwhile, Gemma Casey will represent St Dominic's GAA at the national finals in the Solo Singing competition.

Gemma is a very experienced young singer and she will be making her third appearance at the All-Ireland level of Scór na nÓg.

Having won this title at the last time of asking in 2024, Gemma will no doubt relish the chance to continue her club’s proud Scór tradition in Killarney and bring a tenth national title back to Knockcroghery with her beautiful singing of the great Roscommon song, 'The Ballad of O’Carolan Country'.

With the Roscommon senior footballers travelling to Killarney to play Kerry in their Allianz National Football League Division 1 fixture on Sunday afternoon, the county colours are sure to be prominent in the Kingdom this weekend!
