Young Moate farm student receives John Feely Scholarship
Young Moate farm student Eanna Maxwell was one of the four recipients of the 2025 John Feely Foundation at ICMSA’s Head Office in Limerick last Friday, January 23.
Eanna was presented with a cheque for €1,500 from Denis Drennan, President, ICMSA on the day.
Speaking to the gathering of friends and families Mr Drennan said that ICMSA and the John Feely Foundation were determined to commit funds and energy to the education of young farm students in accordance with the conviction of the legendary ICMSA President for whom the scholarships were named.
Addressing Eanna and the other young farm students, Mr Drennan cited the increasing complexity of the issues around farming as highlighting the need for more advanced training and education.
He urged the young people to realise that they must involve themselves in farm organisations and ‘step up’ if the particular requirements of their generations were to get the attention and detailed responses needed.
