Lynam named in GAA.ie 'Team of the Week'

A two goal contribution to the Westmeath senior footballers Allianz NFL Division 3 win over Sligo on Sunday has earned Jonathan Lynam a place on the GAA.ie 'Team of the Week'.

The Downs player was named on the 'Team of the Week' half back line following his first half brace which saw Westmeath open up an encouraging eight point half-time lead in the TEG Cusack Park Mullingar contest on Sunday.

The goals were to prove crucial to the game's outcome as the Lake County contributed a mere five points to the second half scoreboard, staving off a strong scoring rally from Sligo to claim a promotion boosting start to their league campaign.
