60 new jobs for Midlands with opening of Wendy's restaurant
60 new jobs are set to be created in the Midlands with the opening of Ireland's second Wendy's restaurant and drive-thru on a site in the Tullamore Retail Park this May.
Corrib Oil has confirmed that recruitment across a range of roles in the new restaurant is "already underway" and has advised those interested in joining the Tullamore Wendy's team to log onto www.wendys.ie for more information.
The announcement marks the latest milestone in the development agreement signed between Corrib Oil and Wendys, which will see the creation of more than 300 jobs nationwide with the opening of 10 branches of Wendys across the country, both as standalone establishments and at select Corrib Oil Service Stations nationwide. Further Wendys locations will be announced in due course.
The new Tullamore branch of Wendys will be located at the Tullamore Retail Park, just off the N52 ring road, five minutes from Tullamore town centre and approximately 10 minutes from the M6 Dublin–Galway motorway. The site is easily accessible by car and public transport, offers free on-site parking, and provides a range of in-store shopping options, making it a convenient destination for customers from across the Midlands.
As with the first Wendy's restaurant in Cork, the Tullamore Wendy’s will serve a menu built around 100% fresh Irish beef and hand-breaded chicken burgers and tenders, sourced from Irish-based food companies Kepak and Western Brand. The menu will also feature the brand’s best-known items, including its famous square hamburgers and the iconic Frosty dessert. Breakfast options, wraps and kids’ meals will also be available.
Michael Dalton, Managing Director, Corrib Brands, said the company is delighted to confirm Tullamore as the second Irish location for Wendys, which will bring the restaurant chain's "signature quality, freshness and hospitality" to the heart of the Midlands, and is another "important step" in their long-term expansion strategy.
Michael Clarke, Managing Director, Europe, The Wendy’s Company, said they were proud to see Wendy’s continue its growth in Ireland with the opening of the Tullamore restaurant. "We’re excited to bring Wendy’s ‘globally great, locally loved’ experience to more Irish customers when the restaurant opens this Spring” he added.
Founded in 1987, Corrib Oil currently operates 41 convenience stores with forecourts and 20 fuel depots across 17 counties.
