Gardai investigating weekend assault on man in Athlone

Gardai are investigating a report of an assault on a man in his 30s in the centre of Athlone last weekend.

The incident is alleged to have occurred at a licensed premises on Sean Costello Street between 10.30am and 11.30am on Sunday (February 8)

A Garda spokesperson said a man in his 30s subsequently received treatment for "non-life-threatening" injuries.

Tha Garda investigation into the matter is ongoing.
