Warning for further heavy rain in Westmeath
Met Éireann has issued a rain warning for four Midlands counties, including Westmeath.
The national weather agency said rain falling on already saturated ground combined with high river levels will lead to flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.
The yellow warning is in force from tonight (Tuesday) at 11pm until Wednesday at 11pm and covers counties Carlow, Cavan, Cork, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Tipperary, Waterford, Westmeath, Wexford, and Wicklow.
