Community dwelling boost for St Hilda's Services
St. Hilda’s Services has received a significant boost with confirmation that the organisation has secured pre-tender approval for the development of new residential accommodation in Coosan.
The approved project will involve the construction of a five-bedroom community dwelling, designed to provide accommodation for four service users along with on-site facilities for a care worker.
The new group home will be located adjacent to the existing St. Hilda’s day and respite centre, enabling close integration with established services and supports already available on site.
Welcoming the announcement, local Minister of State, Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran, said the pre-tender approval "marks an important milestone in plans to expand local support services for people with intellectual disabilities.”
“The development aims to enhance the quality of life, independence, and community inclusion of those who will reside there, while also strengthening the overall capacity of St. Hilda’s to meet growing service needs in the wider Athlone area.”
“I want to wish all involved every success as the project progresses,” added Minister Moran.
Pre-tender approval allows the project to proceed to the next stage of the development process, including the preparation of tender documentation and procurement planning.
