Rosemount to have fun with Canaries!
Rosemount Amateur Drama Society returns to the stage with its annual production from March 11 to March 15 at Tuar Ard Arts Centre. This year’s offering is Bernard Farrell’s hit comedy Canaries, directed by Jackie Madden. A sharp, fast-paced holiday show, Canaries is packed with mishaps, misunderstandings and vividly drawn characters.
Set on Canary Islands, the play follows a group of Irish holidaymakers whose long-awaited escape quickly unravels as relationships are tested, tempers flare and secrets threaten to come to light. Farrell’s trademark wit and incisive observational humour explore how ordinary people behave when far from home and thrown together under unexpected circumstances.
Rosemount Amateur Drama Society promise audiences laughter, strong performances and community theatre at its finest.
This production also marks a generational shift within the society, as more than half of the cast represent the next generation of performers following in the footsteps of their parents as the tradition of Rosemount Amateur Drama Society continues.
