Summerhill NS attend prestigious ESB Science Blast exhibition
Summerhill NS attended the ESB Science Blast in the RDS in Dublin on Tuesday, March 3.
It was a memorable day for Miss Sumner’s 5th class pupils, as they proudly presented their science project, “How Does Your Heart Pump Blood Around Your Body?”, at the prestigious exhibition.
The young scientists impressed judges and visitors alike with their engaging exploration of how the human heart works to circulate blood throughout the body.
While at the Science Blast, the pupils enjoyed a packed schedule of activities.
In addition to presenting their project to judges, they attended interactive STEM shows, spoke with representatives from Met Éireann and ESB, and learned from fellow primary school pupils showcasing their own innovative ideas.
Over the past few months, the class participated in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme, setting up and running their own mini-companies.
Through their creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurial spirit, they successfully raised enough money to cover the cost of their bus journey to Dublin and a well-earned food stop afterwards.
Their achievement not only supported their trip but also gave them valuable real-world business experience.
The day proved to be an inspiring celebration of curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.
