Tubberclair action group launches new community website

A new community website - tubberclair.ie - has been launched by the Tubberclair Local Action Group in South Westmeath.

The group explained that the website had been developed following extensive community consultation during the preparation of the Tubberclair Local Development Plan.

Throughout that process, residents identified the need for better connection, communication, and awareness across the area.

Establishing a dedicated website for Tubberclair was highlighted as a priority project, providing a central place where information about the community could be shared and easily accessed.

The new website brings together a wide range of information about Tubberclair, including the villages of Glasson and Ballykeeran.

Visitors can view and download a full copy of the Tubberclair Local Development Plan, giving insight into the community’s vision and priorities for the years ahead.

The site also features a detailed history of the area, written by local historian Aengus Finnegan, offering readers an engaging look at Tubberclair’s rich heritage and past.

In addition, for visitors and tourists, the website provides useful information on local amenities including hotels, restaurants and places to eat, along with details of the local shop and other services.

Links to a variety of local businesses are included, helping to showcase and support enterprises within the community.

Information on a number of local clubs and groups is available on the site, helping residents and newcomers learn more about the organisations that contribute to community life in Tubberclair.

The website is further enhanced by beautiful photography of the area by Andrew Egan, capturing the landscapes and character that make Tubberclair such a special place.

The Tubberclair Local Action Group hopes the website will become a valuable resource for residents, visitors and anyone with an interest in the area. Most importantly, it reflects the spirit of the development plan itself – created by the community, for the community.

Local groups or businesses who would like to be featured on the website, or who are interested in advertising on the site, are invited to get in touch with the Tubberclair Local Action Group at tubberclareactiongroup@gmail.com.

Everyone is invited to explore the new site at: www.tubberclair.ie.
