Post mortem today on man found in Edenderry house fire
An Garda Síochána continue to investigate all the circumstances of a house fire that occurred at a domestic residence in Castleview Park, Edenderry yesterday, Tuesday, March 24.
The body of a male has been removed from the scene and conveyed to the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore where a post mortem examination will take place today.
The post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death, which will determine the course of any Garda investigation.
The scene is the same house where Mary Holt and Tadhg Farrell were murdered in December 2025 in an arson attack.
The man who died in the latest fire is believed to be Christopher 'Crunchie' Holt, brother of the late Mary Holt, and granduncle of young Tadhg. Formal identification will be made after the post mortem. However, family members have been paying tribute to the late Mr Holt online.
The scene is currently preserved for forensic examination, the results of which will also assist in determining the course of any Garda investigation.
