Westmeath U20 team named for Louth clash

Westmeath Under-20 football manager Kenny McKinley has named his team to play Louth in the Leinster championship tonight (Wednesday) in Dovida Lakepoint Park, Mullingar at 7.45pm.

Moate All Whites have two representatives listed to start with James Mitchell named as goalkeeper and his club colleague Cian Whitney operating at full back.

Tubberclair's Taylor Slevin joins Whitney in the full back line, while Caulry club player Brian Doyle will start on the half back line.

James McHugh, who enjoyed a prolific scoring campaign for the Marist College en route to the school's Bro Bosco Cup final appearance, is named to start in the full forward line where he will be joined by Tubberclair's Kealan Connell.

The team also features a number of players from the Hogan Cup winning Coláiste Mhuire team with Ty Masterson, Críostóir Ormsby, Mikey Weir and Will Scahill all hoping to display the form that brought them All-Ireland honours on St Patrick's Day.

Westmeath have been placed in Group 1 of this year's provincial championship and following tonight's outing against the reigning Leinster champions, the Lake County will then play Wexford on Wednesday, April 1 and Dublin on Wednesday, April 8.

The provincial knockout phase will start on Wednesday, April 15, culminating in the Leinster final on Wednesday, April 29.
