Garda ombudsman office investigating death of man in Westmeath

Fiosrú, the Office of the Police Ombudsman, is independently investigating the sudden death of a 34-year-old man on Saturday, March 28, in Mullingar.

The referral to Fiosrú was made by a Garda Superintendent.

Fiosrú is appealing to any witnesses to the incident to come forward.

Fiosrú would like to hear from anyone who was on the Main Street, Mullingar, at approximately 10-11am on Saturday.

They would also like to receive dashcam footage from passing vehicles from that location and/or mobile device footage from anyone who may have witnessed the man and his interaction with gardaí.
