Gardai investigating burglary at hairdressers in Athlone

Gardai are investigating a burglary which took place at a hairdressing business in the centre of Athlone last night (Tuesday).

It's understood that there was a forced entry to The Barber Shop premises, at Payne's Lane, at approximately 9.25pm.

A Garda spokesperson said a sum of cash was reported stolen after the incident, and a number of officers were at the business premises this morning to carry out enquiries.

Investigations into the burglary are ongoing.
