Yellow wind warning issued for the entire country

Met Éireann has issued a yellow wind warning for the entire country on Saturday afternoon.

The national weather service said Storm Dave will bring very strong southerly winds, veering westerly by the evening with severe gusts and coastal gales.

Met Éireann warns of dangerous travel conditions, loose objects displaced, wave overtopping and fallen branches and trees.

The wind warning will come into place on Saturday at 3pm and will last until midnight.

Met Éireann said uncertainty remains in the Easter weekend weather details at present, but will continue to monitor the situation and issue updated guidance as and when certainties increase.
