Ericsson Athlone staff present €45k to two local charities
Staff at Ericsson Athlone gathered in the campus lecture theatre recently for the presentation of funds raised for the site’s 2025 Chosen Charities.
Thanks to the generosity and participation of employees on the Athlone site, funds raised throughout the year were presented to two local organisations making a difference in the community - New Horizon Refugee Support and Athlone Meals on Wheels.
The cheque presentation recognised the efforts of staff who supported a range of fundraising initiatives during the year. Representatives from both charities attended the event and shared a few words about their organisations and the positive impact the donations will have on the people and communities they support.
New Horizon Refugee Support is a community group that has been working with International Protection applicants in Athlone since 2000. The organisation focuses on supporting residents in Direct Provision centres in Athlone, Horseleap, Banagher and Moate, providing a range of educational, social and community-based activities.
Athlone Meals on Wheels provides hot meals to vulnerable and older members of the local community. The service helps people remain in the comfort of their own homes while ensuring they receive a nutritious hot meal each day.
The event highlighted the strong culture of community engagement at Ericsson Athlone and the positive impact that can be achieved when staff come together to support meaningful causes.
