Five ballet students from Moate school selected for Team Ireland
Five ballet students from Leinster School of Dance in Moate have been chosen to join Team Ireland for the Dance World Cup.
Leinster School of Dance competed at the Dance World Cup qualifiers on Thursday, April 9, with students Ruby McCabe, Hannah Lowry, Ellie Mae Grennan, Lumi O’Halloran, and Cathy Ownes being selected for the team.
As part of Team Ireland, the girls will be given the chance not only to represent themselves and their dance school but also their country on a world stage.
"We could not be more proud of their continued success and achievements. We thank all the our dance families and community for their continued support of our wonderful dancers," said Shauna Coffey, owner of Leinster School of Dance.
The Dance World Cup is the world's largest all-genre dance competition for children and young adults, featuring talent from over 60 countries.
Having began in 2004, the Dance World Cup competition has continued as an annual even since.
This year's competition will take place at the Convention Centre Dublin (CCD) in Dublin this summer from Wednesday, July 8, to Saturday, July 18.
