Venue decided for crunch clash between Westmeath and Derry

Páirc Esler in Newry has been selected as the venue for the Westmeath senior football team's winner-takes-all clash against Derry on June 15.

It had been predicted that the fixture would take place in Kingspan Breffni Park in Cavan, but instead Newry has been selected, meaning both sets of fans will have a journey of around two hours to cheer on their teams.

Both sides go into the clash on the back of two defeats after the first two rounds of matches.

The match, which has a 7pm throw-in, will be shown on the GAA Go streaming platform.
