Westmeath name team for All-Ireland U20 semi-final
Westmeath U20 football manager Kenny McKinley has named an unchanged team for the All-Ireland 'B' semi-final against Leitrim this evening (Wednesday). King & Moffatt Dr Hyde Park, Roscommon is the venue for the game, throw-in 6.30pm.
Considering the comprehensive victory over Offaly in the Andrew Corden Cup final (3-17 to 1-5) in Tullamore on April 29, it's hardly surprising that the Westmeath management team has selected the same starting team (see team list below).
Westmeath reached last year's All-Ireland U20 'B' final, losing out to Down, and they will be hoping to go one better this year.
Ulster opposition awaits tonight's winners in the final with Monaghan having defeated Limerick in the other semi-final last Sunday (3-17 to 0-24).
The Westmeath team is captained by Caulry's Tadhg Baker, who was introduced as a substitute for the seniors in last Sunday's Tailteann Cup win over Antrim - see more here.
Leitrim won the Connacht B title by defeating a second string Galway outfit in the Philly McGuinness Cup final (5-13 to 4-12), played in Kiltoom recently. Leitrim had lost to the same county in the Connacht U20 championship (1-21 to 1-10), but reversed the result against a much changed Galway outfit.
