Mass in Athlone to mark departure of priest returning to Africa

The parish of Saints Peter and Paul in Athlone is inviting people to attend a Mass of Thanksgiving to celebrate the contribution made by a departing priest.

Fr Christopher is returning to his native Nigeria, after arriving in Athlone last summer.

Ordained in 1990, he is a member of the Missionary Society of St Paul.

The Mass marking his departure will be held in Ss Peter and Paul's Church tomorrow evening (Wednesday, May 21) at 7.30pm. All are welcome.

The parish added that a basket will be available for those who wish to be part of a presentation to Fr Christopher.
