Roscommon name team for crucial All-Ireland series clash with Cork

Roscommon senior football manager Davy Burke has named his starting team to play Cork in the county's final All-Ireland series Group 2 fixture in O'Moore Park Portlaoise on Saturday evening, throw-in 4.15pm.

Roscommon require a win or draw to maintain their interest in this year's Sam Maguire competition, a loss signalling an end to their 2025 championship campaign.

Davy Burke's charges suffered a heavy defeat to Kerry in their opening round robin contest but showed resilience and character to secure a vital draw with Meath in the second round of group fixtures.

The two counties met in the senior football championship as recently as the 2023 All-Ireland preliminary quarter-final stage when Cork emerged victorious by the minimum.

Roscommon avenged that championship defeat when comprehensively defeating the Rebels in their Allianz National Football League Division 2 clash earlier this year, a campaign which saw Davy Burke's team ultimately secure promotion to Division 1 of the competition.
