Temple Villa add to season silverware with Over 35's success
Temple Villa added to their end of season silverware when convincingly winning the CCFL Over 35's Shield final in Leah Victoria Park Tullamore.
The victors were decisive in a team display which saw them overcome opponents Shinrone on a 4-1 scoreline.
Villa took the lead after 15 minutes when Benny Magennis scored direct from a free-kick, but parity was restored to the contest ten minutes later as Shinrone equalised with a close range header.
Before the interval Temple Villa regained the lead though a neat finish from Jay Hyland.
Shinrone were to the fore in the early stages of the second half as they sought a second equaliser but Temple Villa's passing game saw them regain control of the contest and Marin Danci made it 3-1 when beating the goalkeeper from distance.
The final result was assured late in proceedings John McIntyre scored with a headed finish.
The win complements the success of the club's senior team who achieved a CCFL Division 1 league and cup double and will play their competitive football in the Premier Division when the CCFL season starts on September 13.
